Tips on preparing your multimedia presentation

Your assignment is to create a multimedia presentation on the history of the civil rights movement. Imagine that you have been asked to prepare an exhibit for the local museum about some aspect of the civil rights movement. Think of a sequence of images with short captions that the museum might display on the wall for visitors to see. You might include some music to play in the background. Or, your exhibit might be about the music or a particular song popular during the civil rights movements.

You may use PowerPoint to create your “virtual’ exhibit or you could use Microsoft Word and add images to it. You may add music to your presentation or you may just list the songs that you listened to with links.

Your presentation must include the following:

1. A title page or slide, listing the title of your presentation and your name

2. A minimum of 20 slides, with captions or descriptions

3. A bibliography listing the sources you used in preparing your presentation. Please include links to any internet sources you cite.

The internet has many images about the civil rights movement that you could use in your presentation. PLEASE NOTE: You may download and use images you find on the internet for the purposes of an individual educational project such as this assignment, but you should remember that it is illegal to copy images from the internet without permission for commercial purposes or to distribute beyond this course.
